Mediapro offered 300 million for naming the Camp Nou. The talks broke down after Bartomeu asked Mediapro's founding partner Jaume Roures to drop the lawsuit from 2016 against Sandro Rosell. [El Pais - @rbesac]
Hi! I made some graphs about these first 10 Liga games, with data from http://understat.com and using #rstats.
First of all, it looks like Arthur has received Barça's midfield keys. He is the most involved player in build-up plays in La Liga.
On the other hand, Suárez tops xG, as the player with most shooting contribution, while Messi is the best provider in the league:
Messi and Arthur the players with the most contribution in creating chances and building-up plays in La Liga, respectively.
With the departure of Cristiano, only Ben Yedder challenges (at some extent) Suárez in terms of xG. Barça now enables Suárez the opportunity to score one goal / game.
Also, notice Messi off the charts
If we look at each team separately, you could notice how poor in creating attacking contribution Real Madrid players seem to be. Bale doesn't look that bad but no one in their team provides what Messi, Suárez or even Dembélé do provide. Sevilla look so good!
Finally, I built this ternary plot, with the aim to illustrate how different players are involved in different phases of attacking play: build-up, creating chances, and taking shots (pointing out Messi, Suárez and Arthur).
